Walking by Faith part 2

As we previously discussed in our last teaching, we discussed about looking back in your life where you knew that an event changed you and raised your faith.

Walking by faith takes courage, patience and most importantly trusting the person you are trying to have faith in.  To have faith in someone, you first want to know that person who they are, what they are made of, and where they stand as a person.  That is where are faith starts when it  comes to people.

When it comes to having faith in God, you may think well it is totally different then having faith in a person.  I beg to differ it is exactly the same but much greater than you can even imagine.

First thing I mentioned about having faith in a person is you want to who they are.  So how can we learn who God is. We first need to know who He is  and what is He made of  and where He stands.  We can learn in the bible, the below scriptures just touch on explaining who God is.

1 John  4:7-10
Dear friends, lest us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.   Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us; He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in trouble

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.

Psalms  73:1
Surely God is good to Israel, to hose who are pure in heart.

Psalms 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor, no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

2 Samuel 22:3
The God of my rock; in him will I trust; he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior, thou saves me from violence.

So if we read the above scriptures it gives us detailed information about who God is.  We see that God is love, God is faithful, God is with you, God is a mighty warrior, God is good, God is a sun and shield. God is your rock and you can trust him, He is your shield and high tower. He is your refuge.

If you only knew that much about the Lord.  I think that is more than enough to start a basis of faith in God.

I want you to know that you can trust in the Lord and have faith in him.

God Bless
Kim
