Storms of Life

Storms of Life

Matthew 7:24 -27 (NIV)

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Are you ready for the storms of life? Maybe you are currently in a life storm or have recently endured one. One thing’s for sure, storms come to us all. The loss of a job, the loss of a family member, or you are dealing with some health issues.   When we live life, storms come.

Jesus tells a story about two men: One built his house on the sand. The winds and rains came and his house fell in. Another built his house on rock, and when the winds and the rains came, it withstood the storm. The key difference was in the foundation. The greatest foundation for withstanding the storms of life is the rock of Jesus Christ. A close personal relationship with the Lord builds a solid foundation on which we can stand and our faith is built up.  Our relationship comes through trusting Him and following Him, day by day.  He will be with you in the storm.

Is your foundation secure, built on the rock of Jesus Christ?
The good news is even if you’ve been blown away by a storm, it’s not too late to start rebuilding upon the right foundation.
